Interlibrary Loan
Did you know that you can access the card catalog of the Coe Township Library in Shepherd (and its
branches) as well as other libraries from the media center web page? Just click on the "Libraries"
tab on the left side of the page and scroll down to the library you'd like to visit! The local library will gladly get books for you using interlibrary loan if they are not available in town. Simply contact the librarian or use the MelCat link on their website to locate titles that interest you. Please note: You must have a Chippewa River District Library card to use their services. remiss
DEFINITION: (adjective) Lax in attending to duty.
SYNONYMS: delinquent, derelict, neglectful.
USAGE: I had been remiss in the fulfillment of my obligations and failed to pay my bills on time, so my landlord evicted me.
veer
DEFINITION: (verb) To turn aside from a course, direction, or purpose.
SYNONYMS: curve, cut, sheer, slew, slue, swerve, trend.
USAGE: The car veered sharply to the left at the intersection and narrowly missed hitting a pedestrian.
inanimate
DEFINITION: (adjective) Not having the qualities associated with active, living organisms.
SYNONYMS: pulseless, breathless.
USAGE: I had worked hard for nearly two years, for the sole purpose of infusing life into an inanimate body.
